The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) State Eligibility Test (SET) Examination is a qualifying test for candidates aspiring to become Assistant Professors or Lecturers in universities and colleges across Madhya Pradesh. The SET exam is crucial for maintaining academic standards in higher education by ensuring that only qualified individuals are eligible for teaching positions.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the SET Examination, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualification: A Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant subject from a recognized university with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).

Appearing Candidates: Those appearing in their final year of Master’s degree can also apply, provided they meet the eligibility criteria upon result declaration.
Examination Structure:
The SET Examination consists of two papers:

This paper is general in nature and aims to assess the candidate’s teaching and research aptitude.

It includes questions on reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.

Paper I comprises 50 objective-type questions, each carrying 2 marks, for a total of 100 marks.

The paper consists of 100 objective-type questions, each carrying 2 marks, for a total of 200 marks.

The subjects covered include a wide range of disciplines such as Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, and Commerce.

Final Qualification:
To qualify, candidates must secure minimum marks in both papers. The qualifying criteria are determined by the MPPSC and are subject to change based on various factors such as the number of candidates and difficulty level. Generally, candidates must score at least 40% aggregate marks (35% for reserved categories) across both papers.
